In this scientific video tutorial, undergraduate students in a forensic chemistry lab demonstrate how to screen a urine sample for drugs of abuse (or their metabolites). The students employ the ToxiLab system, which performs a thin-layer chromatography separation of the drugs and metabolites prior to chemical development, which gives specific colors for different drugs. Learn how to screen urine samples for drugs! Just like in CSI.
