How To: Make an extra long ping pong smoke bomb

Make an extra long ping pong smoke bomb

The video shows how to make an extra long ping pong smoke bomb. For this we need a long sheet of aluminum foil (length of the foil depends on the number of ping pong balls we use), 12 ping pong balls is used in the video (any number of balls can be used), a pair of scissors and a lighter.

Take one ping pong ball and place it in the center of the foil. Fold the sheet into half holding the ping pong ball in the middle. Make sure that the sheet is even. For holding the ping pong balls to the center just wrap the foil to the ball. Now place all the rest of the eleven balls back to back touching one another in a straight line along the center of the sheet and wrap them tightly. Seal the foil tightly on both sides. It's important that all the ping pong balls are in a straight line are in good contact. Also make sure that you don't rip the foil as it would make the smoke bomb to flame instead of making smoke. Make sure to leave the unfolded end of the foil open, from where the smoke could get off. Cut the end of excess foil leaving space for a ping pong ball and a half. So the length of the foil can calculated as (number of ping pong balls + 2) * 2.

Now seal tightly the extra flaps of foil. Make an opening at the top with a pencil or pen or even with your finger. Keep the pencil touching the ball and wrap the foil tightly and remove the pencil. Now the smoke bomb is ready. Here the demonstrator has taped the whole bomb. But it better not to tape it for the bomb to work properly. Flame the bomb to base end and blow of the flame.
