Learn how to make hydrogen with some household chemicals and items. This experiment is dangerous, so please exercise caution. You will use Liquid Plumr for this science experiment, and be warned, Liquid Plumber and hydrogen are dangerous, maybe not the aluminum foil, but the chemicals, definitely. Fill a balloon with it and watch it explode with a close match.

The main ingredient in liquid plumber is Sodium Hydroxide. When Sodium Hydroxide is combined with Aluminum, it prevents a protective barrier from forming around the Aluminum, and the water in the Liquid Plumber dissolves the Aluminum. This reaction actually forms Oxyhydrogen, which is not as reactive or volatile as pure hydrogen. So you are not getting pure hydrogen gas.
