Mono Lake, California

A bacteria made of arsenic was reportedly found in the poisonous Mono Lake, California. The notion that a bacteria could thrive on arsenic was previously thought impossible, meaning this discovery could potentially aid scientists in their search for life outside our planet.

NASA's news conference regarding the discovery will be streamed live at 2 pm EST (11 am PST) today, Thursday December 2nd.
